A native Washingtonian, Dr. Van Vleck is a graduate of the National Cathedral School and Duke University, where she earned a B.S. in Zoology.   She attended Wake Forest University Medical School and completed her pediatric residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and The Children’ s National Medical Center.
Dr. Van Vleck is an American Board of Pediatrics certified pediatrician and has been practicing with Spring Valley Pediatrics since 1994. She took a one-year leave of absence to live abroad in Africa with her family and to volunteer at an orphanage in Koforidua, Ghana. She enjoys every aspect of general pediatrics and has an additional interest in travel medicine.


Dr. Van Vleck is active in the D.C. Community. She has served on the Children’s Hospital Board of the Children’s National Medical Center since 2015. She is on the medical staff of Georgetown University and Sibley Memorial Hospital. She is the Physician Consultant for the Georgetown Day School and the National Cathedral School.


Dr. Van Vleck is active in the D.C. community.  She has served on the Children’s National Hospital Board since 2015 and joined the Board of Directors of Children’s National in 2020.  She has also recently joined the Board of Directors of the Hospital for Sick Children.  She is on the medical staff of Georgetown University and Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital.  She is the physician consultant to The River School, Beauvoir, and the National Cathedral School.  Dr. Van Vleck is the current President of the Washington Clinic-Pathological Society and an emeritus member of the Osler Medical Society.  She has been recognized as one of the Washingtonian Magazine’s “Top Doctors” for over twenty years.


Dr. Van Vleck lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and three children.
