Dr. Siegel completed a seven-year combined Liberal Arts-Medical Education Program at Boston University where he earned his medical degree in 1984. His internship and residency were served at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, Bronx, NY. His fellowship training was completed in a combined program at the New York University Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases, New York, NY. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and successfully completed a re-certification program in Rheumatology in 2000 and 2013. 

 

Dr. Siegel serves as the Medical Director of Arthritis and Rehabilitation Therapy Services, the physical therapy division of Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, P.C. While he cares for all rheumatic diseases he has a special interest in psoriatic arthritis and other spondyloarthropathies such as ankylosing spondylitis. He is a member or GRAPPA, the international Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis and is a contributing author of the group’s recently published treatment guidelines . He was also chairperson of the committee charged with developing psoriatic arthritis guidelines for United Rheumatology, a national group representing private practice rheumatologists and has been chosen to sit on the committee to develop guidelines for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis for the American College of Rheumatology. He has authored or co-authored numerous academic papers relating to the diagnosis and treatment of psoriatic arthritis. Dr. Siegel currently serves on the medical board of the National Psoriasis Foundation and is on the editorial board of their publication, Psoriasis Advance. He lectures extensively to other rheumatologists and medical professionals on topics in Rheumatology.

 

Dr. Siegel is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Siegel is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the American College of Physicians and the Rheumatism Society of the District of Columbia. He has been repeatedly listed in Washingtonian magazine, Washington Consumers’ Checkbook, and Best Doctors in America as an outstanding specialist in Rheumatology.
