After finishing his undergraduate studies at Boston College, Dr. Gardiner went directly into medical school. He completed his medical degree at Georgetown Medical School in Washington, DC, followed by his orthopedic residency training and sports medicine fellowship at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. To further specialize in his field, Dr. Gardiner earned his board certifications in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine.

 

Dr. Gardiner specializes in all aspects of sports medicine and focuses on shoulder and knee surgeries, including partial and total knee replacements. He is on staff at Suburban Hospital, Shady Grove Hospital, and The Surgery Center of Chevy Chase, all in southern Maryland. Dr. Gardiner also serves as the team physician at Seneca Valley High School and stays involved in the care of athletes at several other local high schools.

 

When Dr. Gardiner isn’t in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. He's an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, skier, and cyclist. Dr. Gardiner also plays golf and tennis.
