Stephen Hunley, MD, FACC, FSCAI is a board-certified cardiovascular specialist with TPMG Cardiovascular Diagnostic Center in Williamsburg. Dr. Hunley earned his Associate of Science from Lees Junior College in Jackson, Kentucky and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Dr. Hunley furthered his education at the University of Kentucky, earning a Doctor of Medicine. He later went on to complete an internal medicine internship and residency training at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Following his post-graduate training, Dr. Hunley completed a cardiology fellowship at East Carolina University and later an interventional cardiology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Hunley joined TPMG in 2022.
With over 20 years of experience practicing medicine, Dr. Hunley strives to provide a high level of care for his patients. Drawn to the medical field by a desire to help others, he enjoys creating comprehensive treatment plans possible for his patients based on a variety of clinical factors. Dr. Hunley partners with some of the most talented physicians in our region to offer expertise in treating unique heart conditions that cannot be treated locally.
Dr. Hunley sees adults for a range of cardiovascular diseases including heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. He performs minimally invasive options for coronary heart disease including the use of cardiac stents. Additionally, he optimizes medical therapy and provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations including nuclear stress testing, echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. He has a particular interest in interventional cardiology, a branch of cardiology that deals with catheter-based treatment of cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Hunley is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is currently a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
When he isn’t seeing patients, he enjoys sailing, cycling, and playing the mandolin.
